When a 135(1) or 135(2) Warrant is issued under the Mental Health Act, it gives police officers the legal authority to enter a private property and remove an individual to a Place of Safety for mental health assessment. This is done in collaboration with Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) and often NHS crisis teams.
