Highly Trained, Thoroughly Vetted, Always Prepared
Professional & Compassionate Transport You Can Trust
At SSC Secure Transport LTD, we don’t just meet the industry standard—we aim to exceed it. Every member of our frontline staff undergoes rigorous, accredited training designed to equip them with the skills, awareness, and professionalism required for working with vulnerable individuals in secure transport settings.
Our in-house Trainer and Practice Educator plays a central role in maintaining training quality. They are a member of the Herefordshire Co-Production Team and actively represent as a Carer-Trainer in Hertfordshire, bringing lived experience, empathy, and sector-leading insight into every session delivered.
From safeguarding to restraint awareness, every journey is led by someone who is not only trained—but compassionate, responsible, and ready.
Proudly Working With
Safeguarding Level 2 (Adults & Children)
All staff complete Level 2 Safeguarding training to ensure they can identify, respond to, and report concerns involving vulnerable adults and children. This includes recognising signs of abuse, understanding consent and disclosure protocols, and working within relevant safeguarding legislation.
Mental Health Awareness
Our teams are trained in recognising and supporting individuals with mental health conditions, including those experiencing distress, anxiety, or crisis. Training covers communication skills, early warning signs, and how to de-escalate sensitive situations using calm, person-centred methods.
Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
We provide focused training on the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and DoLS to ensure staff can appropriately support individuals who may lack capacity to make informed decisions. This includes lawful decision-making, best interest protocols, and understanding restrictions that must be properly authorised.
Restraint & Mechanical Restraint Training
While we operate with a least-restrictive approach, our team is trained in the safe use of restraint and mechanical restraint equipment. Training emphasises legal limits, de-escalation-first strategies, non-harmful techniques, and risk assessment during high-stress situations.
Autism & Learning Disabilities
Transporting neurodivergent individuals or those with learning disabilities requires specialist understanding and empathy. Our training promotes respectful communication, sensory awareness, and behavioural insight, ensuring patients are never misunderstood or mishandled.
Moving & Handling
Our Moving & Handling training ensures staff understand how to support patients with reduced mobility safely and respectfully. This includes correct body mechanics, assisting with transfers, and preventing injury to both patient and staff during care or transport.
Mandatory E-Learning Modules
In addition to in-person courses, all staff complete a suite of mandatory e-learning modules covering:
- Equality & Diversity
- Health & Safety
- Infection Prevention & Control
- GDPR / Data Protection
- Fire Safety Awareness
These modules reinforce core principles and ensure compliance with NHS and regulatory frameworks.
Enhanced DBS Checks for All Staff
Every member of our team undergoes an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before beginning active duty. This is part of our unwavering commitment to safety, trust, and transparency. We ensure our teams are not only trained—but also thoroughly vetted to work with vulnerable individuals.
Ongoing Development & Feedback-Driven Improvement
Training is not a one-off event at SSC. We provide regular refresher courses, legal updates, and scenario-based learning to keep our staff sharp, compliant, and confident.
We also go beyond traditional training with our in-house feedback system. After every patient interaction, we provide a structured opportunity for clients, care teams, and professionals to share feedback. This creates a valuable point of contact for continuous service improvement, allowing us to reflect, adjust, and uphold the highest possible standards.
